The first circle begins as a celebration of the feminine. Granted I have no idea of what I am doing. I certainly do not know what to expect, but what I do know is I am being divinely guided in this process.
After I book the first circle at the yoga studio May 12, 2008, I realize I have two weeks to prepare for this event. Understand this is a small studio in Pasadena, CA. Because I booked the So Purkh circle at the last minute, the event is not included in the regular calendar of events. All I have is word of mouth and email contacts to promote the So Purkh Circle. When the response to the circle becomes explosive, my divine guidance is confirmed.
Oh, then there is the task of chanting So Purkh. A few days after I booked and promoted the circle I realized I had never chanted So Purkh. That is quite a realization. How am I going to lead this circle when I have never even chanted it once all the way through myself? The answer is to sit down and do it.
I bring my CD player into the bedroom, grab the “Marriage on the Spiritual Path” book, sit down and begin chanting following the words from the book. It is daunting, but I get through it. Some of the passages are so fast, I just slur my way through it, if I am able to get any words out at all!
But one day of chanting down. I still have 9 more days to practice! Every day, I am able to keep up more and more with the CD as well as incorporating in the words. It seems I learn more of the words each day I practice it. I am relieved because I was not even sure it was doable that first time I chanted it.
I express my concern about leading So Purkh to one of my friends and fellow yoginis who is also a performer and musician. She has first hand experience of having to get up in front of an audience and perform. She also has been listening to the chant so she is familiar with its speed of music and words. She shrugs her shoulders laughs, “Marcia, chanting So Purkh is the “fake it, ’til you make it” process. NO one is going to be able to chant this thing perfectly the first time. Set the intention we will all receive the healing from it we desire without having to chant it perfectly, and be done with it!”
Brilliant advice. As artists, teachers and healers we can all get so caught up in the perfection of the presentation, but ultimately, it comes down to our intention surrounding it. I am now at ease. Two and a half years later I tell the women in the circle that chanting So Purkh is “the fake it ‘til you make it” process, and they can receive what they need from it from just laying down, listening to others in the circle chant it. Especially chanting in group consciousness raises the effects exponentially so intentions are easily manifested.
One of the most profound realizations I had regarding the power of this mantra is during a circle in June 2009. Three new women show up to the circle who have never chanted So Purkh before. Some of them had never even done Kundalini Yoga. There are seven women in the circle besides myself. It ends up about half-way through the CD, I am the only woman chanting. Everyone else is laying down in corpse pose. This had never happened before. I took notice, and kept on chanting.
When we finished, these women are telling me they had a profound, transformational experience just listening to it in corpse pose. Later on, I find out that one attendance to the circle uplifted and transformed one of the women’s relationship bringing it to the next level of intimacy. She is sure it was due to her attendance at the circle because that was the intention she had set!
Through my meditations at this time, I see exactly how the circle is to be conducted.
The group is about uplifting and raising men’s consciousness so that they can easily let go of their fear of the feminine process of creation which will enable them to let go of their need to control the feminine.
The collective female 2nd chakra has been under siege from this need to dominate from men.
What we are doing is healing the collective feminine chakra through this work. Why is it that the two highest paid professions of women are prostitution and modeling? The damage inflicted upon the collective female second chakra from this point of view that our value only comes from having a “societal deemed standard of beauty” or fulfilling men’s base sexual desires in an unsacred union. By enabling men to let go of their abusive power over the feminine, we allow ourselves to heal from rape, sexual perversion, miscarriages, sexual abuse, etc. We heal the Triple Goddess aspect of the mother within us. To heal our relationships with our mothers, and as mothers, it extends transgenerationally, up and down the lines, from the past and into the future.
We are not the only ones. There have been groups of sisterhoods, priestesses, holy women, nuns that have carried the torch for thousands of years--the women who first went to Guru Ram Das.
Now it is our turn to carry the torch and embark into the sacred mysteries-the mystery of healing ourselves and the world.
This healing event allows us to open up the second chakra and clear it from all trauma. By doing this we pave the way for the conception and nurturing of even more elevated souls in the womb. Allowing for even greater artistic creativity in women, opening up the (head) crown chakra to receive divine guidance and clearly working with the second chakra-Yogi Bhajan says second chakra and fifth chakra are most blocked in our society.
We are healing the collective feminine second chakra of the feminine gender as well as Mother Earth. The planet’s second chakra is in disarray due to pollution, chemicals, abuse, etc. so that the natural cycle of the regeneration is crippled and interrupted causing such occurrences as global warming.
Healer heal thyself as we heal the collective feminine gender of this planet through raising the consciousness of men, we heal Mother Earth, repairing all damage to the energetic system of chakras.
It is a re-gathering of priestesses long ago that have come forward to heal and be healed in a system brought to us by a man-Yogi Bhajan.
By healing the second chakra of this group, we extend the healing out transgenerationally, running up and down the female biological line of every woman present physically and energetically, we extend the healing back in time to all past lives and now into the future to all future lives, to the collectible feminine gender currently incarnate on this planet, and finally to this beautiful and majestic planet.
We clear all scars of abuse, violence, rape, abortion, stillborn babies, prostitution ,endometriosis, fibroids, cysts, infertility, etc. from this group from this life and all lives past and all lives future.
We clear and heal each other and heal each other, forming an energetic support group in which the circle cannot be broken.
The circle is a success. Thoughts keep on popping up for me to do another one.
